Have you spied out your land?

And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. Number 13:27-28 (KJV)

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. Number 13:33 (KJV)

Hello fam, trust your day has been great so far. Mine has been interesting. I hope you took some time to identify the lands God has given to you, if you haven’t, please spend time in prayer, listening to God. Ask Him questions and wait for His answers. He does speak but as a gentleman, He would not answer questions He’s not asked.

The next step after identifying your land is spying it out. When the Israelites sent spies to check out the land, all twelve spies agreed that it was a good land that flows with milk and honey. However ten of the spies saw giants and obstacles they could not conquer while two saw giants and obstacles they could conquer. How they perceived what they saw differentiated these two sets of men.

What do you see on your land? Do you see giants you can conquer or giants you can’t? If you see giants you cannot conquer, then you loose your lands to the giants. Are there giants on your land? If yes, what are those giants? I’ve got some giants in my land, some of which are :

Resources (people and money): Where are the resources to take over this land? How can birth this dream with no money? When i ponder on this, i know i have two choices. I can choose to believe the word in Phil 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus or I can choose not too. If God has given me a land, then He’s made provision ready for me in that regards. The question is do i believe that enough to begin to take steps to possessing the land? or am i sitting, chilling and waiting for God to bring all the resources before i move?

Faith without works is dead, when we step out in faith, then we access God’s resources.

People: What will people say? How will people perceive me? For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God John 12:43 . I wish i could boldly say i do not care about what people think or say about me lol, but i’m not there yet. It’s unfortunate but sometimes i have been held back by this giant. Right now, i’m learning to obey God and go in His direction even though it contradicts people’s expectation or perception of who I am or should be. I’m also learning to be comfortable with the fact that some people might not be ok with my decisions. I love everyone that God has placed on my path, but I must learn to seek praise from God not these wonderful people.

Excuses: It’s not my thing. I cannot do it. I’m too old. i don’t know how too. I can’t even figure out where to start. No body has done that before. I’m not wired that way. I don’t have the time. I don’t have the resources. I’m sure you get the message. Excuses, that is another giant on my land that must be conquered

Fear: What if i fail? What if i try going in to conquer these giants and i fail? All the Israelites that died in the wilderness were all children of God. God was with them, His presence was with them. However only Joshua and Caleb recognized and walked in the consciousness of God’s presence. They said to the Israelites in Numbers 14: 8 If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.

They knew that there were giants in the land but they also recognized the presence of a bigger God. Sometimes as child of of God I tend to forget that He is with me. It sometimes so easy to be caught up in what I can see, hear, touch or feel that I forget God’s presence. So today i’ll declare the words of David in Psalm 118: 6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid.

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me… Psalm 23:4

What giants are on your land?
