A couple years ago, God taught me about warfare.
Ephesians 6:12- For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
2 Corinthians 10:4 – For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds
I came to understand that the Christian life Is a battle, and we are not called to fight for victory but rather called to enforce the victory of Christ in every situation. Even though I knew this, I must confess there are times I withdrew from battles I should have fought. When the battles became intense and it looked like I was making no progress, I shrank in fear and withdrew. Overtime I realized I had taken a wrong posture, I had positioned myself in the place of prayer asking God to establish victory in my life without me having to go up in battle.
The devil wearies you out in battles so you can withdraw and never experience victory. When the devil can’t steal away your confidence in God, he attacks who are. He causes you to lose confidence in you are in Christ. You no longer see yourself as a conqueror, you don’t see yourself as strong or as a victorious. And gradually he makes you take the position where you put the responsibility of victory in your life totally on God with no contribution on your end. These are the moments you keep praying and waiting for something magical to happen while doing nothing. You pray and wait for a change while making no changes on your end. We have to partner with God to have victory established. We have to engage, we have to be confidence not only in who God is, but also in who we are.
I’m not sure where you’re at today, if you’re in a battle, if you just won a battle or if your battle has been so intense you’re withdrawing. I just want to remind you of who are in Christ.
- You are more than conqueror
Romans 8:37 – Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. A conqueror is someone that wins, that overcomes and that’s who you are. You don’t shrink back, you don’t give up, No! you fight and you win!
- You are an army crusher
Psalm 18:29 – In your strength, I can crush an army; with my God, I can scale any wall. (NLT)
Listen, God gives the strength, but you do the crushing. You cannot sit back and do nothing. Arise today and crush whatever army in the strength of God.
- You can leap over any wall
Psalm 18:29 – For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. (KJV)
God will go with you, but you do the leaping over the wall. God was with David but David had to swing against goliath. That wall before you; you can leap over it for God is with you.
Refuse to withdraw, refuse to quit, refuse to pray and do nothing. Ask God for steps you can take after prayer. Ask Him for direction, read books, seek counsel. Make up your mind to have victory established, never stop until it is ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
