Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Acts 3:6

A long time ago, a cousin of mine said to me – You’re like a gold mine, dig inwards. I did not really understand what he meant until years later. I spent years doing what I knew to do on the outside in order to get the silver and gold – the tangible blessings, I desired but never really paying attention to what had been deposited on the inside of me. I wasn’t looking to get tools on the outside that would help me dig out the gold I had on the inside. I was looking for gold earrings, gold necklaces forgetting that I had a gold mine on the inside of me.

Peter and John in our text today were well aware of what they had, it wasn’t tangible yet they were aware of it. They were not intimidated or embarrassed to acknowledge their lack of tangible blessings (silver and gold) because they knew that the intangible creates the tangible. They knew what they had was worth more than silver and gold. Why worry about not having a gold necklace when you have a gold mine?

Today I want you to ponder on this question – What has God deposited in you? What abilities, graces, anointing, skills, etc. has He given you? Are you aware of the intangible blessings of God in our life? The impact you make in this world is dependent on recognizing and utilizing that which God has given you. What God has placed on the inside of you is worth more than silver or gold, it is unique, it’s a solution to someone’s need, and adds value to the lives connected to you.

Most times we go through life unaware of what God has given to us, we try our best to live an impactful life but fall short. Sometimes we struggle with low self-esteem, a lack of confidence and we get intimidated by others because we are unaware of what’s in us. There is greatness on the inside of you desiring to find expression, there are solutions to problems on the inside of you. what you’re seeking on the outside is on the inside of you, would you dig? Would you take some time to identify and unitize what’s in you?

Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”

“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.” 2 Kings 4:2

Some of us have identified the gifting, anointing, and abilities God has deposited in us, but as the widow in the scripture above, we think it’s nothing, we think it’s not worth much. We take it for granted, we never use It or barely use it. In the case of the widow, the jar of oil was the solution to the problem of debt she was facing. Have you noticed that most times when God provides or multiplies, He usually uses what you already have? He always begins with something you already have.

Whatever your jar of oil is, do not despise it, in that jar lies the solution to not just your need but the needs of others. Make the decision to impact your world with the deposit of God in you.

  • You know just last week or so I was talking to God and the word Gold mine was in my heart. I kept journaling and repeated Goldmine a couple times. Then I get your notification of a new post in my email and saw goldmine and I thought what are the odds?! I for sure knew God brought the word to me. Thanks for being a channel. Have a great week
