The Egyptians chased after them with all the forces in Pharaoh’s army—all his horses and chariots, his charioteers, and his troops. The Egyptians caught up with the people of Israel as they were camped beside the shore near Pi-hahiroth, across from Baal-zephon. Exodus 14:9
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Exodus 14:15
The journey of the Israelites from Egypt to the promised land depicts the believer’s journey from whatever form of captivity or bondage to the place of victory experientially. When God begins with us, He brings deliverance to us in different forms through the display of his power. Once we are delivered then He instructs us to move from Egypt to our promised land.
It is important to diligently study the journey between Egypt and the promised land, the journey between victory birthed (deliverance) in prayer and the manifestation of that victory. Israel showed us that the fact that you’ve been delivered does not mean you’ll get to your promised land. The question we seek to answer is this, after you have prayed and you know through the peace of God in your heart or through conviction that you have been delivered, your prayers have been answered, how do you respond in that season as you wait to see the manifestation of your answers? How do you journey between Egypt and your promised land?
Believe in your deliverance:
The fact that Pharaoh is chasing after you does not mean you have not been delivered. Pharaoh chasing you is proof you’re no longer in Egypt. Sometimes when you contend for and get delivered, the enemy would attempt to come back with attacks like he’s done in our past to make you believe that you may not have been truly delivered. If you believe that you’re still in bondage just because of the attacks, you give the enemy permission to hold you captive mentally even though your chains spiritually have been broken.
When God sets you free, you must believe you are free indeed and you must stand your ground. With the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptians behind, Israel panicked but God had a plan. God did not bring them out only to have them captured again, no. Same with you, God equipped you not only to enforce your victory and get delivered but also to stand in that victory and not let the enemy back in again.
The fact that Pharaoh is chasing after you does not mean you have not been delivered
Keep Moving:
Deliverance is only the first step of the journey. God always delivers you from bondage so you can enjoy the freedom and blessings He has for you. He intends to take you to the promised land, a place flowing with milk and honey. So, He says, keep moving. After deliverance allow me to guide you and bring you to that which I have prepared for you.
But what does it mean to move? How do you keep moving? The Bible says we walk by faith, not by sight. Walking by faith is how you move. Just like the Israelites had to walk through the wilderness into the promised land, so would you have to take the journey of faith to get to your promised land. Walking by faith would differ for each person, but walking by faith means there is an action of obedience tied to the manifestation of your promise. You must know what that action of obedience is for you. For one person, it could mean just praising God internationally over the situation, for another, it could be your act of service in church, for another it could be giving. The point is there is an action you’ve got to take to get to your promised land, that action would require faith, and you must consistently engage in it until you see the victory. That’s how you walk, that’s what it means to keep moving.
It was said of Abraham, he staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith giving glory to God. Abraham was not just doing nothing, he was engaging praise as he walked towards his promise. Don’t stop walking until you get there.
Remember after deliverance, the enemy’s major hold on them was no longer the army of Egypt but their faith, their belief in God. As you journey to our promised land, this critical phase in between requires faith and the attacks at this phase would be to destroy your faith.
After Israel was delivered, there was absolutely nothing the enemy could do outwardly to stop Israel from possessing the land. Once he realized he could not stop them externally, his strategy changed. He looked for ways to get them to stop themselves. How? through unbelief. If I can get them to fear, to see themselves as grasshopper, to doubt God, then I can still accomplish my purpose.
His strategy has not changed, once he has no legal ground in your life, giving him access to steal, kill, and destroy, his next agenda is to get you to give up on the promise. He’ll fight your faith, fight with thoughts, and every single strategy to create fear. Don’t give in, believe and exercise that faith by your actions. Believe and keep moving, your season of manifestation is almost here.
