Be Fruitful:

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Genesis 1:28

After God was done creating the earth and placing man in the garden, God said it was not good for man to be alone. God also knew that man being by himself would not be able to fulfil the mandate of being fruitful so He made him a helpmate, Eve. Marriage between both of them became God authorized platform to be fruitful; bring forth children and raise godly seeds

In the New Testament, Jesus came as the second Adam with an assignment to save mankind and give God the family He desired in the beginning. God knew that once again the man Jesus could not fulfill this assignment by Himself so He did what He did in the beginning. He formed a bride for Jesus, and He gave Him a helpmate – The Church, to help Him be fruitful and fulfill His goal. That is why Paul teaches that marriage is a representation of Jesus and the church.

This means that whenever Jesus wants to birth anything on earth, He needs to get intimate with His bride (you, me, the church) and that intimacy will lead to conception. As His bride, we get to carry and incubate that dream, vision, idea, word, promise, or whatever Jesus wants done on the earth just like a pregnant woman.  And when the time’s right, we would birth that which was once conceived, bringing forth fruit on earth. This is how ministries are birthed, it was in the place of intimacy that God gave the call, or vision to a man to birth that ministry. Now that we have the foundation laid, here are a few points to note.

You are crucial to the fulfillment of God’s will on earth.

A man cannot produce fruit by himself, neither can a woman. A man must deposit his seed in the womb of a woman for that seed to grow and bring forth a child. As the bride of Christ, God has given you the great privilege of receiving, incubating, and birthing His seed on the earth. You are his bride, He has so designed the system on earth that He cannot bring forth fruit without you. Jesus died, but it was His disciples, the early church that took on the responsibility of spreading the good news and causing many to come to Christ. We are saved today because of what Jesus did and the men who brought us that good news. It’s a result of both, not just one.

As His bride, we are still responsible for birthing children. While He gives the seed, we are responsible for planting that seed in the hearts of men, so it can bring forth fruit. God needs you! You are crucial to the fulfillment of His will on earth.

There is no conception without intimacy

If a wife takes care of her home, cleans, cooks, and does all her domestic chores but never gets intimate with her husband, they would never have children. They would never be fruitful. While it is very important for her to not neglect her duties as a wife, duties do not produce children. When it has to do with being fruitful, intimacy is required. We can never undermine the importance of serving and being involved in godly activities, however, we must never replace that with intimacy. The enemy thrives on allowing us as believers to be so caught up in our chores as wives at the expense of intimacy.

Today we have many brides, hard-working and diligent in their domestic chores but have never conceived because they have never been intimate with Jesus. Intimacy is the place where purpose is conceived, this is where assignments are received, this is where ideas and solutions are gotten, all a product of intimacy. While you serve, never forget to spend time with your husband – Jesus, conception can only occur in the place of intimacy.

        Pregnancy will change you

Pregnancy changes a lot in a woman. It changes the clothes she wears, it changes her appetite. She tends to crave a certain kind of food and despises others she once enjoyed. Pregnancy affects her sleep, and her movement, it impacts so many aspects of her life. This is what happens spiritually as well, when you conceive God’s word, His vision, or assignment, it changes the trajectory of your life. You cannot receive a seed from God and remain the same, impossible. It will change you, you will lose your appetite for certain things, your focus will be changed, your words will be changed, and you no longer remain the same.

God changes us by planting something on the inside of us. David said, “Thy word have I hide in my heart that I may not sin against you”. It is the word conceived in me that enables me to live and act a certain way. Sometimes we see those burning for God, we want to dress like they do, pray like they do, and talk like they do.  We try but over time it becomes a chore because we are either not pregnant, or we are pregnant but our symptoms and changes are different from theirs.  Christianity isn’t about striving to change behavior or act a certain way, no it’s an invitation to a life of intimacy with Christ, Intimacy will lead to conception. His seed growing on the inside of you will change you and ultimately produce the fruits on the outside, a result of your intimacy with Him. There is so much God wants to bring to the earth through your life if you allow Him. Stay in the place of intimacy, this is what guarantees fruitfulness.

Every Fruit/Child is different: – Don’t abort yours

When Paul became intimate with the Lord, he birthed depths of revelation and a third of the New Testament. When Abraham became intimate, he got an instruction that led him to the birth of a nation for the Lord. When Esther became intimate, she got an instruction, an instruction that seemed not so spiritual, a banquet. Esther decided to birth that banquet and the result was not just the deliverance of the Jews, but many became Jews themselves.

The product of intimacy with Christ produces different kinds of fruits, but every fruit would carry His seed and is geared towards-  The salvation of souls and the maturing of believers to become like Him. Some people would bring forth songs as a result of their intimacy with Him, some would write books, some a new measure of His anointing, some innovation, businesses, medical solutions, etc regardless of the fruit, they all serve to advance His kingdom.

But the question God is asking today is; Where is my bride? Where is the one commissioned to bring forth my fruits on the earth? Scripture says He is the vine, we are the branches. It’s the branches that bring forth leaves and fruits, not the vine. The vine provides the sap and nutrients, so the branches can be fruitful. There is so much God wants to do on the earth but the question remains – Where is my bride?

Many like Esther will receive ideas  in the place of intimacy that might not fit into our religious understanding or definition of how God works, but can we trust Him enough to execute and watch how He uses what we might see as unspiritual to bring many to His family? As we approach the end of times, we must know that God is set to release new strategies, new concepts and ideas, innovations, and solutions, to usher in a great harvest of souls. Don’t abort God’s seed in you because it’s different or because it looks unspiritual.

Our fathers of faith rose in their days and dared to birth as God wanted in their dispensation. What we enjoy as a norm today, was not the same as years ago. Our time has come and God is counting on us not just to serve and be content with that, but to press into the place of intimacy, receive, and bring to the earth all that is on His heart. It will be new, it will be different, and will require men of courage and strength. Will you be that bride?  The command to bear fruit is natural and spiritual.
